Because Sarah was sick last week, she came today to play with me so my parents could spend some time together. Since it was 100+ degrees it was too hot to do much outside but they went to the outlet malls to browse the stores. They found some great deals on clothes for me at Osh Kosh BGosh. Although I have lots of summer clothes they are all 18 months. Although the shirts are a little long - the pants and shorts just fall of me they are so big. My parents got me a few shorts and overalls in 12 months so I have something to wear this summer!
Sarah had put me down for a nap at 4 pm and finally woke me up at 6 pm. Not surprisingly, I was well rested and in no mood to go back to bed at my normal time of 7 pm. In fact, when Carol showed up at 10 pm I was still awake and crying because I wanted to get out of my crib and play!

It was a very fun music therapy session today - there was me, Mommy, Lucille, Spencer, Kiersten and Katrine. Katrine is a new hard of hearing teacher and she came with Kiersten to observe (and participate). So when it was time for our hello and goodbye songs where we sing to everyone - it took quite a awhile to get through everyone!
The morning did not get off to a very good start though. When Nicole was getting me ready for the day she set me up on the counter by the sink. She turned on the faucet so she could get some water to wet my hair with. I happened to be holding my hearing aids and decided they needed a bath so I threw them in the sink under the water. Hearing aids + water = nothing good! Nicole let Mommy know a few minutes later and Mommy could tell right away one of the hearing aids was not acting as it should. Mommy put both hearing aids in the drier and when she tried them again later in the day they seemed a little better. Just to be safe Mommy is going to have my audiologist do a test on hearing aids to be sure.

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have me start feeding the dogs. This morning when Mommy tried to take the food bowls away, I got really angry and the first thing I did was lean over and try to bite Mommy on the leg. Let's just say I have a little bit of a temper! Sometimes it is trying to bite (not really very dangerous since my top and bottom jaw don't meet up but I don't realize that), sometimes I hit people (or small animals) and other times I just throw items. But my anger passes pretty quickly and I am back to my laid back self. Mommy can't wait to get those moments on video to prove I am not always an angel though!

Just like with many decisions in my life, when it comes to eating I have very strong opinions. I only like ice cream that is white - the flavor isn't as important. I will eat ginger, mint and vanilla because they are all white. My two favorite things right now are apple juice and white ice cream. When it was time for my feeding therapy appointment today, I started off by requesting ice cream. Mommy had just bought a frozen fruit variation for me to try. Although Mommy and Karen were very positive with me about trying the "red ice cream" I wanted nothing to do with it and displayed my displeasure by throwing three spoons on the floor and pushing the container with the "ice cream" around the tray. Karen and Mommy gave me a moment to get back into control of my emotions and moved on to a cracker. Once I was munching away they reintroduced the "red ice cream" and after dipping my cracker into it, I decided I really did like it after all! Since my mood improved Mommy also brought out the mac and cheese baby food and I was dipping my whole hand in the jar to get at it! So Mommy and Karen learned a lesson - start me off with something familiar before introducing something new!

I love to play in my brothers food and water bowls. Mommy decided I might stay out of them a little less if I let her help feed the boys. So in the morning now I hand feed them some of their kibble after we fill their food bowls. Henry is not a big fan of dry dog food and only eats when he gets really hungry - but because I feed him myself by hand he has been eating a lot more! After doing this a few times this is part of my morning routine now and I think my brothers like it as well.

Mommy is just a wee bit jealous. Lucille has begun taking me to the park most mornings. As she explained to Mommy this afternoon, she and I are officially regulars of the morning park crowd. It's a little "Mommy and Me" play group at the Machado Dairy Park - it's just my Mommy isn't a part of it - Lucille is! Once she got over her jealousy, Mommy was just very happy that Lucille and I get to do something fun during the day when Mommy and Daddy are busy working.

Happy Mother's Day Mommy! To help celebrate her special day, Daddy got up with me this morning and let her sleep in - she loved every extra second of sleep that she got! Then he made her breakfast and ordered her not to do any work today. She tried to take it easy, but still ended up doing a few things around the house.
The best part of the day, though, was when we all went to get my first official haircut! I think my parents were more nervous than I was. When we walked in there were three hairstylists and little ole me which meant I got lots of attention - just the way I like it! There were a few tears when I got strapped into the fire truck chair, so while Vicky cut my hair the two other stylists blew bubbles to keep me entertained. The even put on an Elmo video (without my hearing aids on they turned it up pretty loud). The best part was watching myself in the mirror though. My parents had Vicky take off a few inches and my hair got all curly after that. Vicky even put a pretty flower in my hair. I like my new "do" and my parents were very impressed with how good I was. After I was down for the night, Mommy ran to Marie Callendar's to get a slice of pie for her and Daddy - a great ending to a perfect day! Hope everyone else had a perfect Mother's Day too!
