Yes, those are my brothers and yes, they are sitting by full food bowls. Why are they sitting by full food bowls and not eating them? That would be because they are waiting to get fed the dinner that my Mommy is preparing. Henry espescially has decided that it is better to wait to eat his dog food until after my parents eat dinner. That way, he won't fill himself up on dog food just in case he gets some scraps from dinner. If no scraps, then he will eventually eat the dog food. So, my parents are going to try to be better in 2008 and quit feeding my brothers from the table!

It was not my best day ever, I had to go in for my four month old appointment and get 3 shots and 1 vaccination via my g-tube. When I got home around 3:30 I then took a nap for 3 HOURS! Not suprisingly, I was not in the mood to sleep at 8 pm when I normally go to bed and stayed up until almost 10 pm instead.

The doctor weighed me and I am now 10 lbs 6 ozs. Mommy really thought I would be up to 11 lbs but not quite yet. The nurse said I was a real trooper because I would cry for a few seconds after each shot and then I was over it pretty quickly. By the time the nurse left the room I was back to my old self. My mommy says I am a brave girl and if she could have given me a lollipop she said I certainly deserved one.

I was getting so frustrated today that I couldn't get stuff to my mouth that Mommy went and found teething beads. These are so much better because they are lightweight and they can fit over my HME. I still prefer my fingers, but these will work for now!

This is a picture of my brother, Henry. Mommy and Daddy were not very happy with him. Apparently, last night he got up several times and whined at the door. They took turns taking him outside but that didn't seem to make him happy either. It was definately not a good night's sleep for my parents. On the other hand, I had a great night's sleep and didn't wake up at all!

Daddy went and got some supplies to stake up all the trees that had fallen during the storm. In between rain showers he had to go out and get them fixed. Because the grass is so wet, apparently the ants decided they didn't want to be outside anymore. Out of nowhere there was a line of ants from the front door to the kitchen where the ants were building a home in a potted plant. My parents spent the rest of the day putting down ant bait but they just kept on coming. I guess they didn't like the storm either!

My parents woke up this morning to the beginning of the worst storm Northern California had seen since 1995. Over the course of the morning, we lost power about 15 times, although not more than a few seconds at a time. Thankfully, we stayed nice and warm in the house and out of the pounding rain and hurricane force winds.
Mommy cancelled my doctor's appointment for today and rescheduled for Monday so she wouldn't have to take me out in the bad weather.
Although Mommy even put on their coats, the doggies refused to go outside. (Guess I can't really blame them). With the garbage cans being tossed around the yard and half the trees in the backyard falling down it wasn't very safe to be outside.
By mid-afternoon the wind calmed down enough that Mommy could get to the store to stock up on a few supplies. Unfortunately some of the supplies she needed (like distilled water for my trach mist) she couldn't find because so many people had the same idea. Luckily she had enough to get me through the weekend.
Mommy was very glad when Daddy came home safe and sound and they could spend the night relaxing. We all spent some "pack time" watching TV before I went to sleep.

My parents heard on the news today that a big storm is set to hit Sacramento over the next few days. Luckily, they had some fresh batteries for the flash light and some candles but they realized they were not very well prepared for an emergency. That is something to add to their resolutions for this year. They showed my night nurse, Mimi, where everything was in case we lose power tonight. The worst part of the storm is supposed to hit around 5 am so hopefully they can get through the night without any problems.

Mommy got to speak to Grandpa Gil on the phone today. It was only for a few minutes because he needs to rest as much as possible but she was so happy she got to tell him she loved him while he was having a good time remembering. Towards the end she started crying and got him crying too. The rest of the day Mommy was pretty sad but she is still very thankful that she got that time with him.

My Aunt Kristin was wondering where the overalls were that she got me for Christmas. They are meant for a bigger baby then I am but Mommy went ahead and had me try them on.
I spend most of my day now trying to get my fingers into my mouth. With my HME on my trach it is very difficult to do but I haven't given up trying. Every once in a while I can get the tip of a finger in and I will suck a little. Usually, though, I end up poking myself in the nose or the eye and get really mad!
Although my brothers sometimes irritate each other, you can see in the picture above that in the end they really do love each other. When all is said and done they would rather spend time cuddling each other then fighting each other.

My parents were a little suprised this morning when my nurse, Lucille, didn't show up. They called the agency and they didn't know either. They think because it is a holiday Lucille decided to take the day off, but just didn't remember to tell anyone. Since my parents had the day off we got to spend the day together instead.

I am going through a phase of only wanting to sleep while being held or in my swing. Every time my parents try to move me to my crib I wake up. They think it is important that I learn to sleep there, though, so they keep trying.

You may wonder why my hair is so greasy in some pictures. Mommy discovered that I have cradle cap. Apparently, it is very common in babies but due to all of my hair Mommy just now noticed it. All the books say that if you rub vegetable oil into the scalp that oil will attract the oily skin and then it will fall off. Mommy likes to experiment on me so she gave it a shot. She's not sure if it really worked yet but it sure got me all greasy and made for a long shampoo session tonight which I didn't really appreciate!

During playtime tonight, Daddy sat me on his chest and I got to look at him from a whole new angle which I loved! Don't we look alike!
