After all the stress, testing and transition meetings today was the big day. Finally, I have an IEP and I will be attending the oral/spoken language preschool with Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind. There are still a few things to work out - the biggest being getting a nurse assigned to be in the classroom with me - but barring all that I will be starting preschool on Wednesday, August 25th at 8:30 am! As if the trach and g tube weren't enough I will also be casted on my left arm from my hand surgery on Thursday. But don't you worry, I won't let that stop me from having a great time on my first day of preschool!Peyton Nicole Smith
