Despite lots of newscasts saying it would be raining all day today, it actually turned out much better than expected and we were able to go to the Special Kids Picnic at Fairytale Town! When I woke up from my morning nap it was about time to leave. We got packed into the car and half way there my Mommy realized we forgot the stroller. Oops! That kept our time there to a minimum because with carrying me, a suction bag and a diaper bag that also contains all of my trach supplies it was a lot to carry! For about an hour we walked around and checked out all the fun fairytale structures. They also had lots of animals - goats, bunnies, ducks, sheep, a donkey, a cow and the three little pigs (okay, they weren't so little - they were pretty big actually). I thought everything was a dog and kept making the sign whenever I would see another animal. Although I was too young to appreciate it, my parents took lots of pictures. There were lots of families and children having a great time. In fact, when I saw the babies my age I would sign "baby". My parents didn't see any other babies with trach's but did see a few with g-tubes like me. Next year I will be walking and much more interested in all they had to offer. This year it was just nice to see all the families and children having fun on such a beautiful day!

  1. Hello Smith family!
I was so tickled to see that Saturday turned out to be a pretty nice day after all, and you were able to go to Fairytale Town.I loved seeing Peyton enjoying the day at the park almost as much as I
enjoyed seeing her mommy and daddy
having that day with her. Those moments have been more rare for you,and when they come along thry must be even more special.
It was a year ago at this time(where did the time go?)that our sweet baby came home from the hospital! What a year it has been for all of us.Just as Peyton has
taken over your house and home physically, she has taken over all of our hearts. We like many others,
find ourselves addicted to the days blog to get the most recent
pictures and glimpses of her every day(and yours). As adults we sometimes become cynical of life and think that one person can't
    make much of a difference,and as I
think of Peyton I realize that she makes all the difference in many peoples lives!Thank you mommy and daddy Smith for having and sharing your precious little girl with us1
    Love you lots Peyton,
    Granpa and Granma Mower
    P.S.
PLEASE DON'T PULL YOUR FURRY BROTHERS TAILS!
