After a few short-lived walks in the stroller (one with Mommy and Karen, and one with Daddy and Mommy that involved spitting up) it was time to get back on the horse. It was a beautiful California day, in the 60's, and my parents decided it was the perfect time to go out in the stroller and visit the new park that opened up a few months ago. I was pretty quiet, just taking it all in. But most importantly there was no spit up and no crying! My parents only had to suction me once. What a big moment for all of us. Next time the boys get to come too!

After all that excitement I took a nice long nap!

Friday was back to the old routine because Daddy went back to work and Lucille took care of me. In the evening, Daddy and I played peek-a-boo on the couch although with a twist - he used my feet instead of my hands and I thought that was pretty funny. He also "flew" me around in the air which was great fun too.

Mommy took her friend, Kelly's advice and got some baby oil gel to try the slicked back look. It smelled great and definately got my hair under control but it was a little too greasy. Even after a good shampoo it didn't seem to want to go anywhere. Mommy will keep that in her bag of tricks for photo ops in the future, though.

Three weeks ago, Lucille notified Mommy that she couldn't work today. Mommy let the home health agency know right away but as of yesterday afternoon they still didn't have someone to cover her shift. Work is crazy busy for Mommy right now so Daddy volunteered to stay home and play with me today. He said he was looking forward to having a Daddy-Daughter day with me. I had a really good time playing with him. He lets me get away with being rocked to sleep or falling asleep in my swing - while Mommy makes me fall asleep in my crib. I definately have him wrapped around my finger and will use that to my advantage in the future : )

Later in the evening, Mommy read me a a book that my Great-Grandpa Gil gave me for Christmas. It was all about a princess who didn't want to go to sleep. You can see above that I liked it a lot.

I am getting so big now that I don't even have to do "modified" tummy time anymore. Now, Mommy just puts me on my Boppy pillow made for tummy time and I hold my head up and look around. I am even comfortable enough now that I am reaching for toys and sucking on my hand while on my tummy. I can also hold my head up for longer periods of time in my baby chair.

Poor Mommy broke a tooth and had to go to the dentist today. They didn't have time to fix today, just an exam and xrays so she will have to deal with it a few more weeks until she can find time in her schedule to get back in to the dentist.

Today, Mommy and I played with Terry, the special education teacher from Sacramento County. She brought some fun toys that she calls "incidental toys". Basically that is a big way of saying that when I touch something then something happens. One toy when I press it, the light comes on and it vibrates. Another toy is an old See and Say that has farm animals then make a sound when you pull them. I was a little unsure about some of them at first but after I watched Mommy's face and saw that she thought it was fun then I decided it must be okay. Terry thinks I am awfully smart and thinks I am doing really well with my development.

Today Kirsten, the hard of hearing teacher came out to visit me. Mommy already figured out most of the basic signs so Kirsten didn't have a lot of advice to offer Mommy right now. Once I get my hearing aid Kirsten wants to come back out to follow up. I was already kind of sleepy before she came so by the time she left I was exhausted and grumpy when trying to get to sleep for my afternoon nap so Lucille had to rock me to sleep.

Thursday, January 31st-Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

It was such an exciting weekend! Uncle Lonnie and Aunt Kristin came to visit me. Thursday afternoon Mommy dropped my brothers off at Camp Bow Wow to play for a few days. Then, Friday morning Mommy left me with Lucille while she went to the airport to pick up Kristin and Lonnie. Since Mommy hasn't seen Kristin since the beginning of October she was happy to see that Aunt Kristin looked pregnant. No, Aunt Kristin isn't "fat", in fact she is really tiny but Mommy could tell she was pregnant and thought her little belly was very cute!

They all came back home together and then Kristin and Lonnie got to hold me. It only took a few minutes for Aunt Kristin to convince my nurse, Lucille to get her picture taken. Finally, you can all see what she looks like! Now Mommy needs to get one of Mimi.

Then, Aunt Kristin and Mommy went to get pedicures and they dropped off Uncle Lonnie at Borders. Unfortunately for Lonnie, they were gone for several hours! Friday night Aunt Kristin made a nice steak dinner for my parents and we all hung out together before Mimi showed up.

On Saturday, Mommy and Aunt Kristin went and got breakfast and Starbucks and had a quiet afternoon until Lillian, the respite nurse arrived. Then, my parents and Kristin and Lonnie went to a late lunch and early movie. They saw Cloverfield (there weren't a lot of options apparently) and they all agreed it was not very good.

Sunday morning Mommy and Aunt Kristin went to go get breakfast from a local bakery but it was not very good - so my parents won't be going back. Later in the day Mommy, Kristin and Lonnie went to pick up lunch before they left for the airport. Mommy and Daddy decided to take me with them to drop them off. It was very exciting to get to go the airport. Mommy and Aunt Kristin were very sad and they cried, but I was all smiles as I got carried around the airport in my car seat. On the way back home my parents stopped to pick up my brothers at Camp Bow Wow. They were so happy to see me!

Sunday night we all watched the Super Bowl together. Actually, me and my parents watched the Super Bowl - my brothers were snoring away on the couch. I guess going to camp really wore them out. After all of the excitement of watching the Giants win in the last minutes of the game I was worn out and after my trach change and bath it didn't take me long to fall asleep.

I sure miss my aunt and uncle but I am so happy they got to come visit me. March seems like a long time away right now but I am sure it will go fast.
